Bobby G. Hubbard's Obituary
Bobby Gene Hubbard, age 78, died peacefully in his sleep at his son's home in Centerville, Iowa, on Saturday, December 17, 2011.
Bob had suffered from multiple strokes and cardiovascular difficulties, and had been living with his son for just over a year. Bob was born June 2, 1933 in Gray Ridge, Missouri. He lived in St. Louis, Missouri, Cairo, Illinois, and Lincoln, Nebraska, before settling in Centerville, Iowa in 1974.
He served the United States Armed Forces as a Private First Class during the Korean War. After the war he graduated from University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
He founded and operated several Electronics businesses, Electronic Designs for Industry (EDI) in Cairo, Ill, and Midwest Controls, Inc. in Centerville, Iowa, and also worked as an Electrical Engineer for McDonnell Aircraft in St. Louis, Isco Manufacturing in Lincoln, NE, and most recently Union Carbide Films Packaging Division in Centerville. He is survived by his wife, Ernestine (Ray) Hubbard, a son Bobby Michael Hubbard, both of Centerville, and a daughter Amy Laura Puls, of Broomfield, CO; as well as four granddaughters Joni McKay of Keokuk, IA, Jennifer Hubbard of Kileen, TX, Audrey and Ellie Puls, of Broomfield, CO, a Great Grandson, Colin McKay of Keokuk, IA, and a sister Shirley Watson, of Sikeston, MO.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother Alma Elizabeth (Johnson) Hubbard and father W. Lee Hubbard; and three brothers, Bill, Donald, and Jack Hubbard.
