Bobby Lee Golick's Obituary
Bobby Lee Golick, age 84, of Exline, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023 at his home.
Bobby was born on December 28, 1938 in Goatsburg, Iowa, the son of Vince and Josephine (Buban) Golick. He graduated from Cincinnati High School with the Class of 1957. On September 21, 1968, Bobby was united in marriage to Janice Mikels. To this union, they were blessed with two children, Rene and Ronald.
Bobby served his country faithfully in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. During his time in the military, he enjoyed playing as a pitcher in baseball with this fellow soldiers. From 1957-1961 and in 1964, Bobby played in the minor leagues as a pitcher as well. Upon returning home from the military, he farmed and then worked for Appanoose County Secondary Roads for 25 years. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing baseball/softball with friends and family. He was extremely fond of spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren any chance he could.
Left to honor Bobby's memory are his wife of 54 years, Janice Golick; his daughter, Rene Cowan; two granddaughters, Kara Dickerson and Keasha Cowan; great grandchildren, Jaden Reger and Karley Dickerson; as well as several extended family and friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Vince and Josephine Golick; his son, Ronald "Bub" Golick; a grandson, Kyle Cowan; two sisters, Delores Sisul and Helen Wells; and a twin brother, Bill Golick.
Per his wishes, cremation has been accorded. Visitation will take place Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 9-10AM. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10AM, Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Eric Hoover officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati. Memorials in honor of Bobby may be made to the East Pleasant Church of Christ, and may be mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, 501 North 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
