Bobby Atkinson's Obituary
Bob Atkinson, 69, of Centerville passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. Bob was born on August 23, 1948 in Centerville to Harry & Naoma (Jennings) Atkinson. Bob attended Centerville Schools. Bob was owner/operator of Engine Parts and Machine. Bob was a loving father, musician, and automotive machinist. A curious mind, and unflappable spirit, one that uplifted and brought the best out in those surrounding him. His faith in God was unwavering, and a source of constant strength and understanding. Bob also enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending quality time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include three children: Travis Atkinson, Linda Atkinson, and Tina Adams. Four siblings: W.F. 'Bill' Atkinson (Pat), Betty Whicker, Velma Evans, Larry Atkinson (Debbie), grandchildren, Dakota & Braxton Walker and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: Harry Atkinson, Bonnie Beach, Elmer Atkinson, Lonnie Atkinson. Funeral service will be 1:30 pm, Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Livengood Cemetery near Numa. Visitation will be from 5-7pm, Monday, July 16, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Memorials may be given to the family and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
