Bob Robb Obituary's Obituary
Bob Robb, age 74, passed away at Mercy Medical Center on Monday, March 2, 2015. Born on January 14, 1941 in Corydon, he was the oldest child of Donald and Olivia (Warren) Robb. He married the love of his life, Karen McCullough, on May 11, 1973. Bob was a lifetime resident of Wayne County. He graduated from Corydon High School in 1959. He was called to active military duty in 1965 and served 2 years in the United States Army. Raised in the construction industry, he continued being a carpenter and contractor when he returned from active duty. When it came to building, he did everything from digging the foundation to finishing the walls. He rose nearly every day by 4:30 a.m. and was on the jobsite before the sun rose. He built homes, barns, churches, and commercial buildings. He believed in hard work, honesty, and pride in a job well done. It's impossible to drive through Southern Iowa without seeing his influence in the buildings and structures present. Bob & Karen were married for nearly 40 years. They began married live on a farm south of Seymour, moving to their current acreage east of Corydon in 1978. Together, they raised three children - Eric, Stacy, and Barry. Known as Poppy to his five grandchildren, he spoiled them with M&Ms and ice cream. In addition to his family and work, Bob enjoyed watching NASCAR and Iowa State Basketball. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Karen; his parents; and several aunts and uncles. Mourning his loss are his children - Eric & Angela Robb (Pleasantville); Stacy & Randy Zerr (Waukee); and Barry & Sarah Robb (Indianola); five grandchildren - Katelynn, Tanner, Morgan, Brayan, and Kieley; brother, Dave Robb; close family, Darrell & Wendy Coddington (Corydon); brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
