Billy Eugene Sulser's Obituary
Billy Eugene Sulser, age 58 of Chariton, Iowa passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia, Iowa.
He was born on July 25, 1956 in Centerville, Iowa, the second son of John and Betty (Davis) Sulser. Billy graduated from Seymour High School, with the class of 1974. He briefly attended Diesel Mechanics at Lincoln Tech in Des Moines, Iowa. Billy was united in marriage to Sharon Long on November 15, 1975,, and through this union, three children were born, Jami (Brad) McGee, Jodi (Kirk) Storm, and Justin Sulser all of Chariton, Iowa. They later divorced.
Billy's first job was with L & W Quarries. He then began his truck driving career with Brandon Repp Trucking, Chariton, Iowa. Billy worked several years for this trucking firm. Following his time with Brandon Repp Trucking, he continued as a self-employed truck driver for an extensive period of time. Most recently, he had been employed as a driver for Rod Joiner Construction.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening. Billy was an avid Iowa State Fair camper, and was a collector of very unique items.
Billy was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his parents, John and Betty Sulser of Plano, Iowa; his three children; three grandchildren, Hunter Dyer, Abby Storm and Emma Storm; two brothers, John A. (Linda) Sulser of Numa, Iowa and Jim (Cynthia) Sulser of Centerville, Iowa. Billy is also survived by numerous aunts; uncles; cousins; nephews; and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the Lange Funeral Home & Crematory, Centerville with Reverend Tom Butler officiating. A visitation will be held Tuesday at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville from 10 AM-8 PM, with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM. Burial will follow in the Brushy Cemetery, north of Plano, Iowa. A memorial has been established to the Grandchildren's College Fund and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
