Billy Joe Hollenbeck's Obituary
Billy Joe Hollenbeck, age 74 of Centerville formerly of Exline, Iowa died Saturday March 5, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center, Centerville.
He was born July 14, 1930 in Exline, Iowa, the son of William and Lulu (Gradwell) Hollenbeck. He was the best agent between Sedan and Cincinnati on the CB&Q Railroad. He was the janitor at the Exline Methodist Church,although he worked under great hardship, he cared for each family member that preceded him in death.
He is survived by a sister, Hazelle Jennings of Marion, Iowa, a nephew, Warren Jennings and his wife Nancy also of Marion, Iowa and a niece Cecelia Copland of Eureka, Illinois and a special friend and care giver Emma Lee
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth Logan, his grandmother Erma Gradwell.
He graduated from Centerville High School in 1950. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Pastor Dianne Christopher officiating. Visitation will be held for 12PM until 2PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Exline Cemetery, Exline, Iowa. A memorial has been established to the First United Methodist Church and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, PO B06, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
