Billy Beard's Obituary
Billy Lee Beard passed away Friday, April 28, 2023 at Corydon Specialty Care in Corydon, Iowa at the age of 85.
Billy was born on August 4, 1938 to Warren and Lorea Beard in Orla, Missouri (Near Lebanon). He attended country school, graduating from Lebanon High School in 1956. Billy farmed and drove trucks nearly his entire life. He retired from Barr Nunn Transportation at Granger, Iowa in 2002.
Billy and Donna Shelton were married in Lebanon, MO on September 24, 1960. They have three children, Dana, Steve, and Heather.Billy married Dolores McCart on December 26, 1987 in Corydon, IA. They made their home in Humeston.
Billy joined Fairview Methodist Church at an early age and later became a member of the Humeston Christian United Methodist Church.
Billy enjoyed gardening; working in his yard, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.Billy is survived by his wife Dolores; children Dana (Jeff) Meads, Steve Beard, Heather Milligan (Dan), Douglas (Judy) McCart, Neal (Dorene) McCart, Brenda (Darwin) Foster; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; sister Ella (Robert) Burns; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Warren and Lorea Beard; two infant daughters; infant sister Judy; brother Leman and W.C. (Winford); sister-in-law Marie Beard.
