BILL CHRISTIAN's Obituary
William (Bill) Newton Christian William (Bill) Newton Christian was born May 15, 1939 near Unionville, Missouri to Elva Ivine (Swiger) and William Walter Christian. Bill enjoyed growing up on a farm and working for farmers in the area. He later owned and operated his own rural milk route. He moved to the Allerton community and started working at the Allerton Feed and Grain where he met and enjoyed many of the farmers in the area. Later he went to work for the Allerton Milk Plant and worked there until his retirement in 2007 spanning more than 30 years. Bill enjoyed working and took a lot of pride in his job. In his retirement Bill and his special friend Irma Harrington spent many hours working in the garden or the yard. He enjoyed having coffee with the guys, helping his son do his chores or going to the grandkids' sporting events. Baseball and softball were always his favorite. His kids and grandkids were always special to him. He always met them with a smile or a grin and was always proud of them. Grandpa always said, "A good days' work never hurt anybody and I've been a Christian since the day I was born." He was preceded in death by two sons: William (Bill) and Lee, parents: Ivine and Walter, brothers: Dwain, Everett, Orville, and Gerald: and sisters: Betty Miller, Mary Christian, and Phyllis Jean Christian. Bill is survived by his special friend Irma Harrington, daughter Sarah of Newton, Iowa, sons Doug (Brandi) of Allerton, Ron (Fran) of Truro, Scott (Choel) of Corydon, and Mark (Dawn) also of Corydon. Other survivors include his grandkids Brandon, Amanda, Austin, Sydney, Camryn, Cole, Cade, Laney, Hannah, and Seth; brothers Edwin (Brenda) and Paul (Jane), sister Janet DeVore (Wendell) and many nieces and nephews.
