Beverly Jean Hanson's Obituary
Beverly Jean Hanson, age 88, of Centerville, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville.
Beverly was born on December 9, 1932 in Merced, California, the daughter of Clara and Leota (Tatum) Smith. She was united in marriage to Robert Hanson on January 14, 1956 in Fresno, California.
While Bob was in the military, Beverly worked as a legal secretary for many years for the State of California. Upon moving to Centerville, she began employment with Griffing and George Law Office in Centerville, working there for many years before she retired.
Beverly was a long-time member of the Drake Avenue Christian Church, and in her later years, was also the secretary. She loved being involved in the community, especially the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. In her free time, Beverly enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking and spending time with her family.
Left to cherish Beverlys memory are her son, Darrin Hanson of Centerville; one granddaughter, Tasha Hanson of Minnesota; five great grandchildren; as well as sisters, a brother-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Leota Smith; and her husband, Bob on May 15, 2014.
Cremation has been accorded. There are no scheduled services at this time. Memorials have been established to Darrin Hanson, to be determined at a later date, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, C/O Hanson Family, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
