Beverly Cormeny's Obituary
Beverly Joyce Cormeny, age 77 of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Oakwood Specialty Care in Albia, Iowa.
Beverly was born on December 29, 1940 in Moravia, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Alice (Millemon) Simmons. She graduated from Moravia High School. She was united in marriage to Boyd Cormeny on October 4, 1984 in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Beverly was a stay at home mother. She loved to take family trips, including camping and traveling. She also enjoyed shopping. Beverly was very fond of class reunions, and keeping in touch with her high school classmates. She was an active member of the Young Democrats.
Ten years ago, Beverly was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She survived this fight. During her younger years, she was the President of the Twins Club when she lived in the Quad Cities.
Beverly is survived by her husband Boyd Cormeny of Gillette, Wyoming; her mother, Alice Rebecca Smith of Moravia; her children, Brenda Jo Wray of Denver, Colorado, Rhonda Janelle Owens of Marion, Iowa, Richard Jefferey Welch of Centerville, Brian Jay Welch of Gillette, Wyoming, and Brent Joel Welch of Centerville; four step children, Mescha Dawn Bunnell, Nina Lynn Cormeny, Kimberly Jo Koenen, and Ginny Lee Cormeny; her siblings, Charlotte Annette Senior, Patricia Floydene Simmons, Gary Lee Simmons, and Danny LeRoy Simmons; twenty grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Beverly was preceded in death by her Father, Floyd Burdett Simmons.
Graveside services will be held at 2PM, Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia with Pastor Lloyd Johnston officiating. A visitation will take place from 12PM-1:30PM, Sunday, January 7, 2018at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville. Memorials have been established to the family of Beverly Cormeny, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
