Betty Lou Whorrall's Obituary
Betty Lou Whorrall, age 86, of Centerville, Iowa, and a former resident of Grundy County, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Frank C. and Mary W. (Pfantz) Mulcahy on March 23, 1926 in State Center, Iowa. She graduated from the State Center High School in 1943 and later would receive her Nursing Degree from Evangelical Hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa in 1947.On September 7, 1947, Betty was united in marriage to Wilton Charles Whorrall in State Center. She worked for many years at the Grundy County Hospital in Grundy Center, Iowa. She along with her husband, owned beer distributorships in Marshalltown, Iowa and Winona, Minnesota; they also farmed in the Grundy County.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Wilton Whorrall; brothers, Junior Mulcahy and Robert Mulcahy.Betty is survived by: her daughter, Mari Klein of Eldora, Iowa; grandson, Wilton H. Klein and granddaughter, Katie Scarlett Klein; brothers, Larry Mulcahy of Cincinnati, Iowa and Roger Mulcahy of Charles City, Iowa; sisters, Bonnie Noe of Kirksville, Missouri and Barbara Bodie of State Center, Iowa. No services are planned at this time and burial of her ashes will be held at a later date in the Oakland Cemetery near Beaman, Iowa in Grundy County.
