Betty Lou Walker's Obituary
Betty Lou Walker, 92 of Mystic passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at Knoxville Hospital & Clinics in Knoxville, Iowa.
Betty was born to Lattie & Aileen (Moody) Jackson in Phoenix, AZ on July 12, 1930. She graduated from high school while in Phoenix. Betty attended Arizona State University for one year.
Betty was united in marriage to Bob Walker on June 30, 1950 in Phoenix, AZ. Shortly after marriage, the couple moved to Bob's family farm in Mystic, Iowa. To this union, came two children: Jim and Deborah. Betty was a farm wife and enjoyed many years of working side by side next to her husband, Bob. She would often bring meals to the men working in the field. Nobody ever went hungry when Betty was around.
Betty enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, listening to music, especially Elvis. In her later years, she enjoyed attending water aerobics at Rathbun Lake Area YMCA. Betty was a member of the Belair Township Club for many years.
Betty could be found at the race track watching Jim and Josh race. She would often visit Hy-Vee and KFC, and would proudly show them family pictures of her beloved grandkids.
Betty was known to many for her kind heart and the love she showed to others. She will be greatly missed by many.
Betty is survived by her son, Jim (Teddy) Walker, grandchildren: Josh (Stacy) Walker, Jennifer (James) Parker, Lois Mastin, great grandchildren: Alexis (Nathan) Fry, Katy Morgan, Atlee Parker Justin Walker, Jackson Walker, Grace Walker, and Jonathon Walker; son-in-law Dan Mastin. She is survived by numerous extended family members. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bob; daughter, Deborah Mastin and her brother, Jimmy Jackson.
