Betty M. Wakefield's Obituary
Betty Wakefield, age 77, of Centerville, Iowa, passed away on January 19, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
Betty was born June 4, 1933 the daughter of Arthur and Sarah (McBee) Meade in Clarkdale, Iowa. In August of 1951 she married Paul Wakefield and together they had two children, David Wakefield of West Branch, Iowa and Susan Santana of Sebastian, Florida. Besides being a wife and mother she had worked at Bratz Studio, Raymonds, and also at Southern Prairie AEA. She loved to travel and enjoyed many sight-seeing trips with friends in various parts of the country. She also had taken art classes and enjoyed painting until her health failed her.
Left to mourn her passing is her husband, Paul; son, David (Gloria) Wakefield of West Branch, Iowa; daughter, Susan Santana of Sebastian, Florida; two grandsons, Ted Wakefield of West Branch, Iowa and Carlos Santana of Sebastian, Florida; one sister, Avie Peel of Centerville, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Clarence Meade of Centerville, Iowa, Raymond Meade of Doniphan, Missouri, Kenneth and Jack Meade both of Davenport, Iowa; one sister, Maxine Richters of Centerville, Iowa; three nieces and one nephew.
A visitation will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Lange Funeral Home with family present from 6-8 PM. A memorial has been established to the family and may be left at or mailed to the Lange Funeral Home 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544. Condolences may be left online at www.langefh.com.
