Betty Joy Taft's Obituary
Betty Joy Taft, age 81, of Centerville, Iowa, died Saturday, June 30, 2007 at her home at Continental at St. Joseph in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Stanley and Gertrude (Barber) Maxted on June 29, 1926 in Beechles Suffox, England. She graduated from High School in England. On July 5, 1946, Betty was united in marriage to Donald Taft in Marion, Ohio. She worked for a time as an Insurance Clerk for and Insurance Company. Betty was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Waukon, Iowa.She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Donald Taft; brother, Stanley Maxted; sister, Dorothy May Maxted; a grandson and one niece.Betty is survived by: her son, Michael David Taft and his wife, Janet of University Park, Washington; daughter, Sally R. Christianson and her husband, Clint of Unionville, Missouri; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.Betty's wishes were to be cremated and the family will have a burial her ashes at a later date.
