Betty Swearingen's Obituary
Betty Swearingen, 78 of Bloomfield passed away Monday, June 28, 2011 at her home in Bloomfield. Betty was born to James and Elizabeth (Van Duzen) Barager in Cheboygan, Michigan on December 1, 1932. She married Norman Paris Swearingen on August 13, 1949. Betty was a nurse and enjoyed Bingo, Dancing, fishing, traveling and going to the casino. Betty is survived by three children; Gordon Michael Swearingen(Majoli) of Robbins, Iowa, Sandra Sue Burau(Walter) of Winfield, Ill, Teri Lynn Franck(Dave Candler) of Hiawatha, Iowa, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a special friend, Joe Hopkins, two sisters; Helen Schoenith(Leo) of Monticello, Georgia and Alice Schoenith of Fayetteville, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, son, Norman Wesley Swearingen, grandson, Christopher Michael Swearingen and a brother Charlie Barager. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2011 at Thomas Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Visitation will be Thursday from 1-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.
