Betty May Brown Obituary's Obituary
Betty M. Brown, daughter of Glen and Maggie (Stroud) Brown, was born near Genoa, Iowa on May 8, 1934. She passed away at her home in Seymour on June 30, 2012. She attended several country schools south and west of Seymour, graduating from Seymour High School in 1951. After her graduation, she worked at the Appanoose County Extension Office and the Appanoose County ASCS office. She married Charles Brown on March 11, 1961 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Their son, Chris W. Brown, was born on January 1, 1970. In 1967 Betty quit working at the ASCS office to help Charles on the family farm. She enjoyed the farm life, working with the hogs and cattle. Later she worked part time at the ASCS offices in Appanoose and Wayne counties and the FHA offices in Corydon, Centerville, and Albia. She finished her working career at Wayne County Mutual Insurance retiring in 2006. She loved the time she spent with her family, especially her two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Willis Brown. Her husband Charles Brown, son Chris and wife Stacey, grandchildren Maverick and Natalia, sister Marjorie Rollins, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews survive Betty.
