Betty Jane Lake Obituary's Obituary
Betty Jane Lake, daughter of Harry and Nina Brown was born July 24, 1923 in Des Moines, Iowa and passed away April 27, 2014 in Corydon. After her marriage to Doyle Ohen Lake she lived on a farm in Wayne County reminder of her life. Betty attended Indian Hills College and acquired an A. A. Degree and later she received her Certified Nursing Certificate. Betty was active in the Corydon Bible Church where she often did summer missionary work, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Betty and Doyle both loved to travel. They toured all 50 states, Australia, New Zealand, Scotland, and Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Nina Brown, husband Doyle Lake, son-in-law Gene H. Harkins, and granddaughter Chantra McCoy. Survivors include her brother Robert Brown of Des Moines, son Larry (Verna) Wilkinson of Corydon, daughter Sue (Gene) Harkins of Corydon, daughter Kimberly (Kris) Depner of Chariton, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and many cousins and friends.
