Betty Lorraine Jennings' Obituary
Betty Lorraine Jennings, age 82, of Unionville, IA, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023 at her home.
Betty was born on July 16, 1940 in Sac City, Iowa, the daughter of William and Leona (Riggenberg) Uren. After she graduated from Sac City High School, Betty continued her education and graduated college from AIB College of Business. She was united in marriage to Terry Jennings on March 16, 1961, and to this union, a son, Lyle was born.
Betty worked at the Cable Company in Centerville for several years. She also worked as a Medical Secretary at Chariton Valley Medical Clinic for many years. In her free time, Betty enjoyed teaching water aerobics at the Centerville YMCA for over 20 years.
Left to cherish Betty's memory are her husband, Terry Jennings of Unionville, IA; her son, Lyle (Teri) Jennings of Huxley; her granddaughter, Jennifer (Aaron) Stevens of Huxley; her great granddaughter, Alice Ivy Stevens of Huxley; a brother, Robert (Karen) Uren of Hinton, IA; as well as several extended family members.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William and Leona Uren; her brother, William Uren Jr.; and sisters, Phyllis Just and Wilma Schmidt.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 5:00-7:00PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with Larry Bettis officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:30AM, Friday, May 26, 2023 at Cedar Cemetery near Lytton, Iowa.
