Betty May Hurd's Obituary
Betty May Hurd, age 82, of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at MercyOne Medical Center in Centerville.
Betty was born on May 25, 1943 in Mercer, Missouri, the daughter of Lucain Taft and Bonnalee (McDowel) Stockman. She graduated from high school, and furthered her education becoming a cosmetologist. Later in life, she also became a CNA.
Betty enjoyed sewing, painting murals, knitting, crocheting, quilting, and making kids' Halloween costumes.
Left to cherish Betty's memory are her children, Rick Hurd, Randy Hurd, and Beth Hurd; her adopted daughter, Kim Phipps; five grandchildren; as well as great-grandchildren and other extended family members and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Bonnalee Stockman; and her husband, Earl Roy Hurd.
Per Betty's wishes, cremation has been accorded, and there will be no services at this time. Burial will take place at Powersville Cemetery in Powersville, Missouri at a later date.
