Betty Harrington's Obituary
Betty Harrington, age 80 of Unionville, Iowa died Monday evening at Centerville Nursing and Rehab.
Betty was born January 19, 1926, the daughter of John W. and Ethel Marie (Gail) Bainbridge in Ottumwa, Iowa. Betty attended and graduated from the Ottumwa High School. Betty married Richard Harrington November 10, 1947 in Lancaster, MO and later moved to Moravia. Betty was very active in the Unionville Methodist Church were she played the piano and organ. She also taught Sunday school and Bible school for many years. Betty was a member of the American Legion Auxilary club in Unionville, Iowa.
Betty is survived by her husband; four children, Joyce Elaine (G.E.) Luse of Moravia, Iowa, Phillip (Barbara) Harrington of Unionville, Iowa, David (Peggy) Harrington of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Brian (Linda) Harrington of Bloomfield, Iowa; a sister Janice (Harry) Alexander of Ottumwa, Iowa; ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Bainbridge.
Memorial services will be held Friday at 11 AM, October 20, 2006 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Pastor Joann Ervin officiating. Visitation will be from 10 AM until 11AM Friday morning at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Unionville Cemetery, Unionville, Iowa. A memorial has been established to the Unionville Methodist Church or Hospice of Central Iowa or Huntington Disease Research and may be left or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 South 18th, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
