Betty Cridlebaugh's Obituary
Betty J. Cridlebaugh, 91, of Centerville, passed away on August 8, 2018 at Homestead. Betty was born on June 5, 1927 to Noah and Emma (Vestal) Robbins in Centerville. After attending Cincinnati High School, she married Paul Cridlebaugh on July 31, 1948 in Richmond, Missouri and to this union four children were born. Betty was very proud of being a working woman/mother for most of her life. She worked several jobs including: Allen's Grocery, the Iowegian newspaper, Sylvania Electric and various restaurant careers which included owning and operating the Korner Kafe with her husband for several years. Betty enjoyed cooking, visiting with people, playing cards, traveling, helping Paul on the farm and often sharing stories about being kissed by Hubert Humphrey, having tea with the Kennedys and attending the Governor's Ball. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Betty is survived by her children: Jim (Rowena) Logan of Corpus Christi, Texas, Colin (Shirley) Cridlebaugh of Princeton, Missouri and Joe (Anita) Cridlebaugh of Princeton, Missouri; brother, Junior (Sandy) Robbins of Centerville; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren as well as other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; daughter, Paula Griffin; six brothers: Matthew, Johnny, Bill, Paul, Clova and Posey; two sisters: Reva Ulrich and Margaret Peel and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the First Christian Church of Princeton in Princeton, Missouri. Interment will be at a later date in St. Paul Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will take place from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville.
