Bethel Ballanger's Obituary
Bethel Ballanger, 87 of Centerville, passed away on March 7, 2021 at Golden Age Care Center. Bethel was born on November 14, 1933 near Unionville, Iowa to Roy and Regina (Crow) Davison. After graduating high school, Bethel married John Ballanger on January 27, 1951 in Udell, and to this union, seven children were born. Bethel was a homemaker. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was a quilter and avid sewer and enjoyed cooking and baking. Bethel loved spending time with her family, especially playing games with her grandchildren and hosting Sunday family lunches. She also enjoyed reading, coloring, making necklaces and keychains and was known to give the best hugs! Above all, Bethel enjoyed serving the Lord and was a faithful member of Coatsville Baptist Church. Bethel is survived by her children: Linda Leach, John Ballanger, Jr. (Rita Slavin), Jeffery Ballanger (Ronda Probasco) and Jay "D" Ballanger (Susan); daughters-in-law, Georgia Ballanger and Jean Fenton; grandchildren: Belinda Potter (Doss), Billie Hurley (Don), Joshua Ballanger (Molly), Jeremiah Ballanger, Jedediah Ballanger, Jody Ballanger (Emily), Jeremy Ballanger, Laura Mart, Elizabeth Ballanger, Mariah Ballanger, Bobby McGrann (Ronna), Sarah Wareembourg (Jared), Becky Ewing, Clanci Ballanger and Murphy Hayes (Bobby); a very special grandchild, Michelle Stansberry; 22 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, John; children: James Ballanger, Joseph Ballanger and infant daughter, Mary Alice Ballanger and her siblings: Lloyd Davison (Ester), Gerald Davison (Evelyn) and Richard Davison (Camelle). Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment will immediately follow at Sunset View Cemetery in Moulton. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home with the family present from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021.
