Bert and I met regularly at the grocery store or the garage sale circuit for years. I dont think either of us had a scheduled time to shop, but we'd often meet at Aldi , greet one another, share some conversation, enjoying our serendipitous meetings. He often mentioned Jewel.He was such a gentle, kind man; I will miss him. Maybe we will meet in heaven
Bert was such a genuinely good man. He was a special person and we feel fortunate to have been able to meet and know him. His warmth and kindness were engaging.Deepest Sympathy to Barb, Betsy and all family and friends. Rest In Peace, Bert.

I am beyond lucky to have had such a wonderful grandfather in my life. Grandpa Bert's kind soul and love of family have taught me so much in how I want to live my life. Instead of mourning, I look forward to celebrating his life and all the joy he brought to others in this world. RIP Grandpa
Bert was a delightful man and I enjoyed the time he spent with us at Drake Ave. Christian Church. (Especially his special potluck offerings) I was blessed to call him a friend, and the world is better for him.
