Bernie Edward Kauzlarich's Obituary
Bernie Edward Kauzlarich, age 80 of Rathbun, Iowa passed away Thursday, October 06, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Bernie was born on May 16, 1936 in Rathbun, Iowa, the son of George and Pauline (Todey) Kauzlarich. He was united in marriage to Peggy E. Clark on October 5, 1963 in Rathbun, Iowa. From this union, two children were born, Jeff and Greg.
Bernie was a member of the National Guard and held the rank of Master Sergeant for nine years. He worked for Centerville Monument Works, Ottumwa John Deere, Des Moines Guarantee Finance and Cash Credit, Centerville Good Seed and Feed, and Young Radiator, where he retired from. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, boating, hunting, fishing and trap shooting.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Kauzlarich of Rathbun, sons, Jeff (Michelle) Kauzlarich of Numa, and Greg (Penny) Kauzlarich of Rathbun; granddaughter, Tessa Kauzlarich of Numa; nephew, Mark (Debbie) Kauzlarich, nieces, Susan (Barry) Wonderlich and Karen (Randy) Carel; and many cousins.
Bernie was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother, Ronnie; sister, Monica; and nephew Brian Kauzlarich.
Per Bernies wishes, cremation has been accorded, and a Celebration of Life Service will be held in Bernies honor on October 16, 2016, from 11AM-4PM at the Rathbun City Hall with food and beverages served. The family has asked for all his friends and family to come and visit during this time, and share stories with his family helping to ease the loss and move on. Memorials have been established to the Family of Bernie Kauzlarich and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
