Bernice Harris, 91 of Moulton died Friday, December 11, 2009 at Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. Bernice was born to Leonard & Anna (Coop) Brooke on July 6, 1918 in Unionville, Iowa. She married Ben F. Harris on February 21, 1940 in Centerville. She was a homemaker. Bernice accepted the Lord at age 16 and served him throughout her life. She was a member of the Lancaster Christian Church. Bernice enjoyed documenting family history, doll collecting, gardening and was a seamstress. She enjoyed sewing for her family members. Bernice read through her bible every year for many years. Bernice is survived by three children, Lois Harris of Moulton, Leonard Harris (Patty) of Moulton, LeAnna Ray (Gary) of Moulton, brother, Vern Brooke (Marilyn) of Grinnell, sister, Mildred McHargue (Bill) of Moulton, four grandchildren, Travis Harris (Tiffany) of Moulton, Cody Harris (Ling) of Champagne, Illinois, Lori Wright (Thadd) of Neosho, Missouri, Chad Ray (Amy) of Leon, Iowa, six great grandchildren, Ben, Dan and Annika Harris of Moulton, Emmey and Logan Harris of Champagne, Illinois and Morgan Ray of Leon, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband Ben F. Harris on August 9, 1993, brother Earl Brooke, sister Mary Brooke and her parents. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday December 15, 2009 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Altheide officiating. Visitation will be all day Monday with the family present from 5-7 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. Interment will be in Sunset View Cemetery near Moulton.
