Bernard D. Terry's Obituary
Bernard Terry, age 86 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa.
Bernard was born December 3, 1922, the son of Orville Charles and Lillie Belle (Baughman) Terry in Chariton, Missouri. He married Lora Francis Thomas December 29, 1952 in Muscatine, Iowa. She preceded him in death on April 25, 2003. Bernard worked as a welder for International Harvester for 31 years in Rock Island, Illinois and returned to Centerville to retire. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and making wine. Bernard was a past member of American Legion.
Bernard is survived by a brother, Jim Terry of Cincinnati, Iowa; a sister, Charlotte (Jim) Haygreen of Manning South Carolina; a sister-in-law, Darlene Terry of Pekin, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brothers, Max Terry, Edwin Terry, Charles Terry, Paul Terry and Robert Terry.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, December 11, 2008 at the Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Boyd Halford officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Iowa. A visitation will be 1-2 Pm Thursday prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial has been established to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association and may be left at or mailed to the Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
