So sorry to hear of Bennys passing. Condolences to Joan and his family.
Having spent a good amount of time in Arkansas, and other places, over the past many years-, I haven't seen Benny for a while. I always held him in high regard.
Benny once gave me the devil for pushing out trees with my old D6 Cat -, with no safety protection. He was right--, and he finished the job. Benny brought his grader to our farm and did a beautiful job on my farm runway. I've always been proud of the fact that I was able to give Benny and Joan an airplane ride from our farm strip, in my Cessna 175-, back in the sixties. I thought it was their first airplane ride--, maybe not. I remember that Benny thought it was great--, and just maybe it provided a little incentive to have Richard Snook teach him to fly!
So many memories. Benny flew his Christian Eagle to our place and offered to let me fly it. I remember his pretty yellow truck tractor getting into a fight with a train. My wife and I shared the same experiences with Benny and Joan when getting our families started. I've been lucky--, I've got four airplanes and still flying. Would have been fun to give Benny one more ride!
