Mary,As you know, while I worked for Ben for only 12 months straight out of college (some 35 years ago), he made a lasting impression on me. Not just for what one does in their profession, but more importantly for how one does it as well. He demonstrated care and concern for those he worked with as well as the customers he served. Ben was also very proud of his family and the company he represented - - always ready to share updates during occasional phone calls over the years.I deeply appreciate your phone call informing me of Ben's passing. Goodbye Ben from your old distribution engineering assistant. You were a great mentor at work and a good friend for life. I have many good memories from our ISU days when we worked in a small close knit engineering department working together to keep the lights on. I am so sorry for your loss. I don't remember Ben very well, but I spent hours and hours with his daughter, 'Vickie' as I knew her. We roller-skated, rode bikes, made secret pacs, played in the sandpile under the huge weeping willow, and on and on. Working with Ben and being a friend of his was a great privilege. A fine man, he was one of the most intelligent people I have ever met. He spoke often lovingly and with pride of all his family. Rest on peace, my friend. Thinking of you all.
