Barbara (Barb) was born on November 13, 1941 to Everett and Louise Kingery. She received her education at Saydel Schools and was raised with her siblings in Norwoodville.
After four years of begging, Barb finally accepted a date with Oliver Wright. They were married just three short months later on September 2, 1960. They raised four children together and resided most of their lives in the Altoona area. They made many lasting memories during their 52 years of marriage!
Barb retired from Nationwide Mortgage Company. But one of her true passions was feeding people, whether that be during family gatherings or running a concession stand with her mother. Barb's house was always a landing spot on the holidays and her meals were enjoyed by several, especially her roast and macaroni salad. She enjoyed the company of her family and adored her grandkids, just seeing them put a smile on her face. Some of her best memories were spent at birthday dinners with the girls, getting together with her siblings, playing BINGO and frequent visits to TJ Maxx.
Those left to cherish Barb's loving memories include her children: Deborah Brooks (Craig), Steven Wright (Cami), Carol Lathrop (Chris), Robert Wright, 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, siblings: Beverly Hurley (Jim), Sue Vignovich (Bob), Don Kingery (Eleanor), Ron Kingery (Andrea) and numerous extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother Bob Kingery.
The family would like to add a special thanks to Dr. Lena Rydberg and Dr. Joe Hawk. We are truly grateful for the exceptional healthcare and compassion that provided throughout the years.
