Barbara J. Peckham's Obituary
Barbara J. Peckham, 79, of Centerville passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. Barbara was born on June 11, 1933 in Moulton, Iowa to Elva & Virgie (Freeborn) Allen. She received her education from Putnam County Schools graduating in 1952. Barbara married Wilbur 'Dick' Peckham. She was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, shopping, cooking and time spent with her family. She enjoyed going out to eat with her various friends and family members. Barbara is survived by eight children: Connie(Dennis) Selvy of Cincinnati, Karen Peckham of Centerville, Robert Peckham of Monticello, Kentucky, James Peckham of Lenexa, KS, Donald Peckham of Winfield, KS, Steven Peckham, Centerville, Patricia (Scott) Newton of Emporia, KS, Wanta 'Kay' Peckham of Centerville, 20 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; four siblings: Betty Jean Tompkins of Conroe, TX, Bonnie (Don) Morrow of Martensdale, Iowa, Tom (Loretta) Allen of Centerville, Mary (Jack) Oden of Unionville, Missouri and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Elva & Virgie (Freeborn) Allen, husband, Wilbur 'Dick' Peckham, son, Ronald Peckham, infant daughter, Barbara June Peckham, three siblings: Charles Allen, Beulah Boland and an infant brother. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 29, 2013 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Joan Ervin officiating. Interment will be in Exline Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m.. Memorials may be given to the family.
