Barbara Logsdon's Obituary
Barbara Logsdon, age 64 of Cincinnati, Iowa died Friday June 22, 2012 at Golden Age Care Center, Centerville. Her long battle with diabetes is over.
She was born on June 23, 1947 in Putnam County, Missouri the daughter of Gerald and Vivian (Parsons) Carter. Barbara was raised in Putnam County and graduated from Putnam County High School. She married Roy Logsdon in 1966 at Ava, Missouri. They would later divorce.
Barbara lived most of her married, adult life in Cincinnati, Iowa. While living in Cincinnati she was a member of the Cincinnati Community Church. Furthermore, Barbara was a youth leader for the church. In her later years she attended the People's Baptist Church in Centerville.
She worked for Neely's Manufacturing in Centerville for ten years. Barbara later worked as an in home healthcare giver. She also sold Avon for ten years. Following her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. In her later years she battled diabetes. Barbara was on dialysis for twelve years.
Barbara had many passions and hobbies throughout her lifetime. She loved playing cards, especially ""four point pitch."" She also enjoyed shopping, most notably ""flea markets."" Barbara often collected oil lamps while shopping. She was exceptionally proud of her oil lamp collection. Barbara liked gardening, especially her numerous rose bushes. She also enjoyed attending rodeos and bull riding- Barbara ""loved cowboys.""
She is survived by her four children, Gene (Becky) Morris of Coffey, Missouri, Jill (Paul) Richmond of Centerville, Iowa, Eric Logsdon and significant other Iesha Rhoades of Centerville, Iowa, and Jennifer (Gary) Huber of Exline, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Anna Morris of Coffey, Missouri, Beth, Sara, and Cody Morris of Coffey, Missouri, Cassie Brown of Pella, Iowa, Sam Richmond of Centerville, Iowa, Holly Huber of Exline, Iowa, and Alicia and Aubrianna Logsdon of Centerville, Iowa; and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a baby sister Norma Carter; an uncle Robert Parsons; and an aunt Lois Roberts.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Becky (Conn) Johannes officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati, Iowa. A visitation will be held all day Monday at Lange Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 PM. Memorials have been established to the Barbara Logsdon Memorial Fund and may be given to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
