Barbara Laux's Obituary
Barbara Laux, 85, of Bloomfield, Iowa, passed away on November 30, 2016 at Bloomfield Care Center. Barbara was born to Joseph and Albertine (Moise) Becker in Chicago, Illinois on June 26, 1931. She received her education from Downers Grove South. Barbara married Philip Laux on June 2, 1951. They lived in Westmont, Illinois, then moved to Exline, Iowa in 1967. She worked for many years as the head cook at the Golden Age Care Center. Barbara enjoyed cooking and crocheting, spending time with her family, especially time with her grandkids. She also loved to spend time at home, listening to radio talk shows and music. Barbara was a member of the Exline Ladies Group. Barbara is survived by four children; Richard Laux (Mary) of Holt Summit, MO, Judy Minard (Kim) of Holt Summit, MO, Denise Rummelhart (Dave) of Ottumwa, IA and Danny Laux (Penny) of Bloomfield, IA, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, husband, son, Michael Laux, grandson, Philip Berry, six brothers; Ed, Syl, Walley, Hugh, Vic and Bernie Laux, and three sisters; Albertina Bolte, Bea MacDougall and Florence Zimmy. A Funeral Service for Barbara will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with Donna Olinger officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home. Interment will be in Exline Cemetery. Memorials may be given to family or to St. Mary's Orphanage of Chicago.
