Barbara Haskell's Obituary
Barbara Powers Haskell, age 65, of Centerville, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.
Barb was born on December 13, 1953 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Donald Longo Saner and Julia Ann (Liles) Saner. She graduated from Eldon High School in Eldon, Iowa.
Barb married Larry Powers on July 18, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He passed away March 16, 2012. She was united in marriage to Gene Haskell on January 28, 2017 at their home in Centerville.
Barb enjoyed reading, going to casinos, bowling, and harness racing. Barb also enjoyed working with the youth, animals and livestock. She was a past 4H leader and involved with FFA. Moreover, she loved spending time with all of her family and friends.
Left to cherish Barbs memory include her husband, Gene Haskell of Centerville; her children, Tishia Batterson of Agency, Chandra Hilty of Centerville, and Tara Powers of Guymon, Oklahoma; her step-children; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Danielle, Delanie, Thad, Mason, T.J., Bryce, and Brianna; as well as siblings, extended family members, and many special friends.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Julia Saner; her husband, Larry Powers; and several of her siblings.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, June 17, 2019 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Walter King officiating. A Visitation will take place, Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville from 12:00PM-5:00PM, with the family greeting friends from 3:00PM-5:00PM. Memorials have been established to The Appanoose County 4H Club, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 190 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
