Augusta Theresa Kauzlarich's Obituary
Augusta Theresa Kauzlarich, age 89, of Centerville, Iowa, died Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of August and Antonia (Raskie) Kauzlarich on November 19, 1918 in Cincinnati, Iowa. She received her education in Cincinnati Community schools and later in a school in Michigan.On September 15, 1940, Augusta was united in marriage to Marion Louis 'Slick' Kauzlarich in Centerville, Iowa. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville. She was a member of the Alter Society for many years as well as a member of the Society of Croatian Fraternal Union of America. She was a homemaker and planted a large garden every year with plenty of canning and sharing with others. She loved all things in nature, especially flowers and plants. After her husband's retirement, Augusta and Marion traveled with the 18/80 club on several trips. They also enjoyed having lunch at the club and playing cards with many of their friends.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Marion 'Slick' Kauzlarich on March 31, 1999; five brothers, infant - Emil, Gabe, John 'Airplane', Tony and Rudy Kauzlarich; three sisters, Rose Tometich, Sophie Yovonovich, and Cecilia Marsiglio.Augusta is survived by: her daughters, Norma and her husband, Frank Belloma of Centerville, Iowa, Patty and her husband, Bill Romine of Maryville, Missouri, Theresa and her husband, Steve Glickman of Hamden, Connecticut, and Donna Kauzlarich and special friend Jimmy Giles of Des Moines, Iowa; son, Col. Mark Kauzlarich and his wife, Sonia of Kailua, Hawaii; one sister, Victoria Polich of Moline, Illinois; twelve grandchildren, Lori (Ronnie) White, Michael (Carol) Belloma, Mark (Jana) Belloma all of Centerville, Iowa, Steve (Julie) Romine of Orlando, Florida, Dr. Suzan Romine (Steve) Harvey of Lawerence, Kansas, Matthew Glickman, Elizabeth Glickman, Mary Glickman all of Hamden, Connecticut, Jason Kauzlarich of Dallas, Texas, Nichole Kauzlarich of Annapolis, Maryland, Theresa Warnock and Michele Warnock both of Des Moines, Iowa; Eight great grandchildren and One great great grandson. She loved each and every one of them and they loved her very much. She had several nieces, nephews and friends.Mass of Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville, Iowa with Fr. Dennis Schaab officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 from 4 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6 pm till 8 pm and a prayer service at 7:30 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to either, the 18/80 club or EWTN - Catholic TV Network and can be left at the funeral home.
