Audrey E. Rogers' Obituary
Audrey (Henderson) Green-Rogers, age 99, of Centerville, Iowa, passed on to her Lord, Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Centerville Specialty Care in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Isaac and Mattie (Rowland) Henderson on February 5, 1916 in Cincinnati, Iowa. She graduated from the Cincinnati High School in Cincinnati, Iowa in 1934.On May 18, 1934, Audrey was united in marriage to Harold Green in Unionville, Missouri, they were later divorced. Then on October 4, 1975, She was united in marriage to Orville Rogers in Centerville, Iowa. She worked for many years as a Sales Clerk at Spurgeon's in Centerville. She was a member of the Solid Rock Church of God in Centerville. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Orville Rogers in February 2003; a son, Larry Green in 1996; sister, Ruth Hudson in 1986; a daughter -in-law, Ruth Rogers; nephew, Ike; two step-sons, Bob Rogers and Bill Rogers and one step-great grandchild.Audrey is survived by: her son, Sammy Green of East Moline, Illinois; step-daughters, Peggy Grismore of Corydon, Iowa, Patty Self of Unionville, Iowa, Rose Mary Rogers of Yakima, Washington, Linda White of Clinton, Iowa, Connie McDonnell of Fulton, Illinois and Brenda Neymeyer of Camanche, Iowa; Three grandchildren, Five great grandchildren, and Three great great grandchildren; thirty-one step grandchildren, forty step-great grandchildren and nineteen, step-great great grandchildren; along with three nephews and their families.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Solid Rock Church of God in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Tony Angran officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Cincinnati, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 2 pm until 7 pm on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with the family present from 5 pm until 7 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to Solid Rock Church of God and left or mailed to the funeral home.
