Arthur N. Ballanger's Obituary
Arthur N. Ballanger, age 95, of Moulton, Iowa, died Friday, May 14, 2004, at his home. He was born the son of Theodore and Carrie (Kimbrell) Ballanger on August 16, 1908 in Lancaster, Missouri. He attended country schools in rural Downing, Missouri.On March 5, 1930, Arthur was united in marriage to Alzada Ballanger in Unionville, Missouri. During his lifetime, he was a coal miner and a farmer. Above all, Arthur enjoyed his large family very much.He was preceded in death by: his parents; one infant son, Harold Ballanger; two infant daughters, Lorena and Lena Ballanger; three grandsons, Rusty Ballanger, Max Strode and Franklin Lee Campbell; two sisters, Betty Morris and Parlee Talbot; one brother, Gilbert Ballanger; and three sons-in-law, Bob Strode, K. W. Wilty and Ben Purkeypile.Arthur is survived by his devoted wife, Alzada Ballanger, of Moulton, Iowa; three sons, Ralph and his wife Linda Ballanger of Numa, Iowa, Roy and his wife Rose Ballanger of Seymour, Iowa and Ray and his wife Denise Ballanger of Cincinnati, Iowa; three daughters, Vernita Purkeypile of Unionville, Missouri, Hazel Strode of Centerville, Iowa and Edna Wilty of Seymour, Iowa; one brother, Joe Ballanger of Kirksville, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 17, 2004 at 10:00 AM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Kristopher Wattlet officiating. Burial will follow at the Fabius Cemetery, east of Lancaster, Missouri. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2004 from 1 PM until 8 PM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa.
