Ardyth D. Weldon's Obituary
Ardyth D. Weldon, age 91, of Cincinnati, Iowa, died Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Claude M. and Carrie (Jones) Ewing on April 21, 1921 on the family State Line Farm near Cincinnati, Iowa. She graduated from the Cincinnati High School in 1938, and later would receive her Normal Training at Centerville Junior College and in Kirksville, Missouri.On October 17, 1940, Ardyth was united in marriage to Max Warren Weldon in Lancaster, Missouri. She farmed along side her husband since 1943 on the current farm she was still living on. She was a School Teacher for over 28 years, teaching at Brush College, Livingston, North Bend, Exline, Rathbun and Centerville, Iowa. She was Past President of Chapter CI of PEO in Cincinnati and a member of the First Christian Church in Cincinnati.She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Max W. Weldon on August 18, 2005; brothers, Ermal Ewing, Claude 'Buster' Ewing and John Ewing.Ardyth is survived by: her daughter, Donna Mullenix and her husband, Gerald of Cincinnati, Iowa; grandchildren, Barb Mullenix of Mitchellville, Iowa and Randy Mullenix of Cincinnati, Iowa; great granddaughter, Brandi Flickinger and her husband, Jason of Altoona, Iowa; and one great , great granddaughter, Taylor Flickinger. Brothers, Don Ewing (late Ruby) of Unionville, Iowa and Larry Ewing (Joann) of Cincinnati, Iowa.Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Kay Singley officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Cincinnati. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 2 pm until 8 pm with the family present from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to the First Christian Church in Cincinnati and can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
