Archie Ronald Martin's Obituary
Archie Ronald Martin, 82, of Centerville passed away peacefully on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Centerville Specialty Care in Centerville.
Archie was born to Archie and Opal (Ervin) Martin on September 8, 1939 in Centerville, Iowa. He received his education from Numa High School, graduating in 1957. Archie joined the Army in 1959. He later went on to work as a heavy equipment operator for the Department of Transportation. Archie married the love of his life, Judith Hofer on March 29, 1959 and to this union came five children; Deborah, Mark, Lauri, Archie and John.
Archie enjoyed reading, watching western films and spending time with his family. In his younger years you could often find him working on cars, hunting and fishing.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his children: Deborah Martin-Stutzel (Tom), Mark Martin (Melissa), Lauri Martin-Sullivan, 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and two sisters: Beverly Wells, Betty Wells and numerous extended family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Martin, and his two sons Archie Martin and John Martin.
Funeral service for Archie will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment will immediately follow at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM with family from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 27th, 2022 at Thomas Funeral Home.
