Anthony James Belloma's Obituary
Anthony James Belloma, age 61, of Centerville, passed away Friday, June 13, 2025 at his home.
Anthony was born on September 6, 1963 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Sammy James Belloma and Margaret Angelina (Busetto) Belloma. He graduated from Centerville High School with the Class of 1982.
Anthony worked at Wells Manufacturing for a period of time before accepting a position at B&K Machining, working as a machinist. He also was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and was on the board for the little league baseball, as well as volunteering as a coach.
Anthony loved starting his day with coffee every morning with his brother, Sam and all the coffee buddies. He had a heart of gold, and it showed in his coaching and when he would help his neighbors out by mowing their lawns.
In his free time, Anthony enjoyed hunting deer and turkey, fishing, and woodworking. He loved being around his grandchildren and watching them play ball. He was fond of taking "little buddy" on lawn mower rides. In the summer time, Anthony loved his slow pitch softball league. He also was very fond of going to the Eddyville races-his last race was 2 weeks ago! Anthony was known for his quick wit and colorful language, often making those around him laugh.
Left to honor Anthony's memory are his children, Britany Belloma and Dayton (Megan) Belloma; his grandchildren, Luke Maffett, Keagan Reed and Kalvin Belloma; his siblings, Francie (Gary) Swanson and Sam (Sherry) Belloma; his nephews, Sean Swanson, Jeremy Belloma and Scott Belloma; his nieces, Kimberlee Swanson, Jennifer Knapp, Belinda Sweeney, Rechelle Phillips, Amy Swanson, and Tara Wray; as well as numerous great nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Sammy and Margaret Belloma; and his great niece, Lauren Swanson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM, Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville with Fr. Ron Hodges officiating. Burial will follow the service at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will take place Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 5:00-7:00PM. Memorials may be made to Dayton Belloma, to be used towards final expenses, and may be mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, ATTN: Belloma Family, 501 North 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
