Anna Lou Morrow's Obituary
Anna Lou (Casady) Morrow, born November 24, 1914 in Putnam County near Graysville, Missouri to Vernon and Elnora (Mullenix) Casady passed away due to natural causes at Monroe County Hospital in Albia, Iowa at the age of 97 years. She was united in marriage to Claude R. Morrow in Unionville, Missouri on November 30, 1943. With the exception of three years in Dean, Iowa, where she attended school, she lived in Putnam County until her marriage. Anna Lou and Claude then moved to Appanoose County and later to Davis County where they lived on a farm. She graduated from the Unionville High School in 1933 and went on to attend Northeast Missouri State Teacher's College in Kirksville, Missouri for several summers. She would teach country school for over 10 years in Putnam County. She was a member of the Christian Church in Moulton, Iowa, and a founding member of the Welcome Neighbors Club around the Monterey area. Anna Lou enjoyed gardening, reading, and being surrounded by her family. She especially enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Together they played games like 'I Spy', 'Simon Says', and many more. Being a teacher at heart, she taught them many important things.She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Claude Robert Morrow; an infant daughter, Melba Arlene Morrow; two sisters, Nellie Cornelison and Mabel Adkins; brother, Clifford Casady; and a grandson, Jeffery Morrow.Anna Lou is survived by: her son, Barry and his wife, Sara Morrow of Bloomfield, Iowa; a daughter, Enid and her husband, Wayne Garkie of Quincy, Illinois; five grandchildren, Jenny and her husband, Eric Klyn of Blakesburg, Iowa, Jacquelyn and her husband, Justin Hunter of Drakesville, Iowa, Dina and her husband, Kirk Embry of Des Moines, Iowa, Jill and her husband, Bret Reedy of Decatur, Illinois and Brian and his wife, Karen Garkie of Quincy, Illinois; eleven great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 11 am at the Christian Church in Moulton, Iowa with Rev. Reg Higginbottom officiating. Burial will follow at the Coatsville Cemetery near Coatsville, Missouri. Visitation will be 1 hour before services at the church with the family present. Memorials can be made to either the Moulton Christian Church or to the Coatsville Cemetery and can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
