Ann Caraccio's Obituary
Annie (Nanny) Caraccio age 91, of Centerville, died Friday June 15, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa.
She was born March 31, 1916. Nanny was born in Byrn Wigan Lancashire, England. Nanny was born to James and Nellie (Brindle) Miller. She was united in marriage on March 21, 1936 to Antonio (Tony) Caraccio.
Nanny graduated from Centerville High School in 1934. She worked as a Nurses Aid at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She worked there for twenty-eight years and retired in 1979. Nanny lived in the house that her mother and father built. She loved sitting in her breakfast room looking at the birds and squirrels. Nanny enjoyed going to bingo two nights a week. She loved to have family gatherings at her home.
Nanny is survived by a daughter, Barbara Davis of Centerville, Iowa; two sons, James ""Jimmie"" Caraccio and his wife Karen of Clive, Iowa, Frank and his wife Vickie of Centerville, Iowa; seventeen grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; sixteen great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Nanny is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Doris Exter; a son, Jack Fry; and a daughter, Lucy Katter.
Funeral services will be held 10 AM Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville, Iowa with Fr. Ron Will officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery, Centerville, Iowa. A visitation will be held all day Monday with family present from 6-8 PM.
