Anita Marie Furlin's Obituary
Anita Marie Furlin, age 84, of Numa, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026 at MercyOne Medical Center in Centerville.
Anita was born on November 15, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of William Edward Egan and Mariann (Weiner) Egan. She graduated from Providence High School. On August 6, 1966, Anita was united in marriage to Danny Joe Furlin Sr., and to this union, three children were born, Danny Jr., Jackie, and Peggy.
Anita worked at Walmart in Centerville for many years as the Customer Service Manager. She also found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved riding around the farm with Danny, taking in the beauty of the land she cherished. A devoted sports fan, she enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, but held a special place in her heart for the Chicago Cubs. Anita valued time spent with her friends, sharing laughter and companionship, but nothing meant more to her than her family. She especially treasured the summers spent with her nephews on the farm and the moments spent with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life and brought her endless pride and happiness.
Those left to cherish Anita's memory are her children, Danny (Martha) Furlin Jr., Jackie (Steve) Mueller, and Peggy (Todd) Micetich; her grandchildren, Anthony Furlin, Danielle (Tristan) Ledger, Ava Mueller, Ella Mueller, Lauren Micetich, and Gage Micetich; her sister, Mariann Petritis; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Furlin Sr.; her parents, William and Mariann Egan; her brother-in-law, Don Petritis; as well as several extended family members and friends.
