Winnie, Nancy, Andy and all the Ragona families....Please accept my deepest sympathies. So sorry to hear of Andrew's passing. Throughout my life I have thought of the Ragonas as part of my extended family. I remember calling Joe and Diane 'grandpa and grandma Ragona' when I was a kid. I have SUCH fond memories of working at the Double R for Andrew and Winnie when in high school and the summer after my freshman year of college. At the time, it was hard work and I didn't enjoy it every day, but looking, back it was some of the best times of my life. And Andrew and WInnie were a big reason why. They were like my second parents in many ways. I will NEVER forget Andrew - he had a big impact on my life. Everyone who knows me has heard my my Double R stories! In 8th grade and through much of highschool I worked at Double R Dairy Bar for Andy. I will always remember him and the family! He was slow to anger and so kind to the employees...he made us feel like part of his family! I can still picture him with a gentle smile on his face leaning up against the chopping block in the back where he sliced and pounded out tenderloins. Some of my fondest memories, while growing up were memories in working for him. He always did what he could to get us off for school events, dances, proms, etc, even if it meant pulling a day shift worker to the evening. He knew it was important in a teenager's life. Heaven has a place for those like him! Sending my sympathy and regards while lifing Andrew up in prayer. May God grant you peace and comfort until you are reunited once again!
