Amelia Tharp, age 92, of Centerville, Iowa, died Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Angelo and Oranato (Cozza) Biasin on March 25, 1916 in Rockford, Illinois. She received her education in the Rockford Community Schools.She was united in marriage to Kenneth W. Tharp in Davenport, Iowa. She worked as a store clerk for many years in the Rockford area. Amelia was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville.She was preceded in death by: her parents; and a sister, Rose Monespero.Amelia is survived by: her sisters, Mary Susinato and Lou Skurski both of Rockford, Illinois; step-daughter, Claudette Ruth Norris of Eldon, Iowa.Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October, 21, 2008 at 11 am at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville, Iowa with Fr. Dennis Schaab officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 from 9 am till the time of services.Memorials can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville and can be left at the funeral home.
