Alpha Cline's Obituary
Alpha A. Cline, 105, of Rockford, Illinois died Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at River Bluff Nursing Home in Rockford. Born May 9, 1898 in Low Ground, Missouri., daughter of Eli and Armadie (Bell) Sumpter. She was baptized July 24, 1966, resided in Exline until moving to the Rockford area. She married Lerma Cline in Centerville on August 31, 1912; he preceded her in death in 1975. Member of People's Church in Centerville. Survivors include children, Viola (Charles) Germann, Violet (Gus) Knittle, Betty (Paul) Adams, Lerma (Mary) Cline Jr., Francis (Dixie) Cline and Charlotte (Hardy) Fike; numerous grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lerma, children, Edna (Roy) Wages, Edward (Mae) Cline, Mae (Lester) McWilliams, Floyd (Althea) Cline and Ray (Martha) Cline; siblings Eli, Rearlie, Dwain, Daisy and Ellen and stepsisters, Edith, Lucille and Ruby. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 10 at Delehanty Funeral Home in Loves Park, Illinois. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday January 12, 2004 at Exline Cemetery with Pastor Lloyd Johnston officiating. All local arrangements will be handled by Thomas Lange Funeral Home.
