Allen Rausch's Obituary
Allen Melvin Rausch, age 77, of Moravia, Iowa, passed away peacefully at his home on February 2, 2017, after a long battle with cancer.
Allen was born January 24, 1940, in Spokane, Washington, the son of Julius and Martha (LaFleur) Rausch. Allen attended school in Washington and joined the US Army in November of 1957. Following his discharge in November of 1960, he worked at several different places including Douglas Aircraft in California before moving to the Midwest.
He was united in marriage to Connie Bright in 1963. Together they raised four children. Connie preceded him in death on February 22, 1997.
On December 24, 2005, Allen was united in marriage to Barbara Cronin in Chariton, Iowa.
He spent many years as a truck driver, retiring as a driver with Transport Service of Joliet, Illinois in 2010.
Allen was a member of the Coeur d' Alene Tribe of Indians, State of Idaho.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, working in the yard and their garden. Allen also enjoyed watching NASCAR and most of all, spending time with his family.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Connie; five half-brothers, Phil, Dan, Dave, Bill, and Ted; as well as two step-sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Barb; daughters, Nancy Armstrong, Tammy Renard, Bridgette (Kim) Stark, Susie (Chris) Grinstead; five grandchildren, Chris Barger, Sydney and Kassidy Stark, and Corbin and Connor Grinstead; three great grandchildren; as well as many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held in Allen's honor at 4PM, Saturday afternoon, February 4, 2017 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Moravia with Pastor Dennis Doud officiating. Visitation will take place from 1-4 PM, Saturday afternoon before the Memorial Service. A Memorial has been designated to HCI Hospice Care Services and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544. Condolences may be shared online at www.langefh.com.
