Allen L. Swartz, 68 of Moulton passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at the VA Iowa Central Healthcare System in Des Moines. Allen was born to Raymond & Creta(Starr) Swartz on July 25, 1939 in Centerville. He graduated from Moulton High School in 1956. Allen was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1963 to 1965. He was a farmer and was employed by DeLong-Keith Construction Company. He was a member of the Burrell McClure Moulton American Legion Post #280. Allen enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, camping, NCAA Women's Softball and hunting, especially coyote hunting. He is survived by four sisters; Beverly Haynes of Burlington, Iowa, Twyla Casteel of Moulton, Coralee Meusburger of Des Moines, Lana Swarts-Pike, three brothers; Danny Swarts, Mike Swarts and Rick Swarts(Tami) all of Moulton. He is also survived by his niece, Emily Meredith(Jerry) and their children Riley and Breanna, niece, Christina Griffiths(Jake) of West Des Moines, nephew, Jarrod Casteel(Heather) and their son Hunter of Indianola, nephew Steven Haynes of Burlington. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents; John & Myrtle Starr, William & Grace Swartz and a brother Warren Moore. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 20, 2007 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Schweizer officiating. Interment with military rites will be in Sunset View Cemetery in Moulton. Visitation will be all day Friday at Thomas Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 p.m..
