In Memory of Allen Collins
Allen was a versatile and multifaceted individual, bid farewell to this world at the age of 63, on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Centerville Specialty Care in Centerville. His life was a testament to versatility and adaptability.
Allen was born on May 9, 1961, with an insatiable curiosity and an innate talent for learning, he pursued numerous skills throughout his lifetime, from carpentry to cooking, gardening to auto mechanic and jeweler. He had a troubled upbringing, and at the young age of 15, he moved in with J.P. Collins. On January 6, 1984 at the age of 22, Allen was adopted by James Patrick Collins, who helped him throughout his life with any struggles that occurred.
A true "Jack of All Trades", Allen had a passion for exploration and learning new skills that knew no bounds. Traveling was his greatest joy, and he delighted in experiencing new cultures, cuisines, and landscapes across the globe. His adventurous spirit led him on countless escapades, from hiking in the mountains, to the waters off the coast of Florida.
Allen leaves behind a legacy of curiosity, creativity, and a relentless thirst for knowledge. His love for exploration and his ability to master any challenge he faced will be remembered by all who knew him. Rest in peace, dear friend. Your adventurous soul will live on in our memories forever.
Left to honor Allen's memory are his children, Nate (Tina) Collins, David (Jade) Korthuis, and Alex Collins (Vana); his grandchildren, Tabbie Long, William Collins and Wyatt Korthuis; his adopted brother, Murphy (Carrie) Cannon; his siblings, Eugene Orbeck, Diane Coiley, Marlene (Earl) Lahr, Gerald (Helen) Orbeck, Ron (Lori) Orbeck, Virgil (Tina) Orbeck, and Darin (Michelle) Orbeck; and his sisters-in-law, Gayla Orbeck, Dawn Orbeck and Jean Orbeck.
Allen was preceded in death by his father, James Patrick Collins; his grandchildren, Anita and Patrick Collins; his birth parents, John and Anita Orbeck; his sister, Joyce; and his brothers, DuWayne and Ralph Orbeck.
Per wishes, cremation has taken place. At this time, there are no services scheduled.
