Alice V. Thomas' Obituary
Alice V. Thomas, age 99, of Centerville, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Ethan G. and Lucy M. (Musgrove) Irelan on December 27, 1907 in Cincinnati, Iowa. She received her education in the Cincinnati Community School.On November 10, 1924, Alice was united in marriage to Custer A. Thomas in Unionville, Missouri. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Cincinnati, Iowa. She loved to make quilts, but her family was always her greatest joy. She has made quilts for all her children and grandchildren.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Custer A. Thomas; son, Paul Thomas on November 28, 2004; brothers, William, Robert and Edward Irelan; infant sister, Ethel Irelan; and son-in-law, Jay Anderson.Alice is survived by: her daughters, Margaret Anderson of Ajo, Arizona and Jeanie Pratte and her husband, Joe of Centerville, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Ramona Thomas of Centerville; brother, Jim Irelan and his wife, Ann of Centerville; grandchildren, Charles A. Thomas and his wife, Fran of Frisco, Texas, John T. Anderson of Olean, New York, Jacquelyn Jean Kincaid-Peterson and her husband, Dan of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, Steven W. Kincaid and wife, Nancy of Cincinnati, Iowa, David P. Thomas and wife, Shelley of Loveland, Colorado, Stephen J. Anderson and wife, Laurie of Clifton, Virginia, Bruce A. Anderson and his wife, Katy of Waterloo, Iowa and Richard C. Thomas and his wife, Terri of Fairmount, Illinois; Ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 10:30 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Kay Singley officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Cincinnati, Iowa.
