Alice Holliday's Obituary
Alice Holliday of Pennville, Mo was born February 25, 1943, in Pennville and passed away at home unexpectedly, on November 24, 2025, at the age of 82.
In 1962, she married the love of her life, James William Holliday who survives at home. Alice brought many years of dedication to her working life: 10 years at Stickler Hospital, 10 years at KOH Hospital and 10 more at Congra. She also served as a nurse's aide at Golden Age. She later became a housekeeper at Putnam County Memorial Hospital before retirement.
Alice was a collector of chickens, both the feathered ones and the glass ones! She cherished simple joys like reading and crocheting. Nothing topped her love for her family; they were the center of her world, the source of her pride and what she treasured the most.
Alice was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Myers-Loughead, her father, Julius Gieney Loughead; and her siblings: Julius Lenard Loughead, Ethel Marie Myers, Lily Mae Hammons, Stella Robinson, Oris F Loughead, Delphine McCammant, Lorine Helen Wright, Herbert Dale Loughead, Gidney Julius "Junior" Loughead, and Ruth Paige Loughead.
Alice is survived by her husband, her sister Dorothy Essey Hobbs, her children; Mary Alice Holliday-Hardman (William Hardman), Billy Eugene Holliday (Halley Miller) and Marla Jean Ryals (Monty Ryals). Grandchildren; Crystal Dawn Mattly (Tj Mattly), Ashley Dawn McCormick (Michael McCormick), James Bradley Holliday (Desiree Schoonover), Jessica Alys Ryals (Aaron VanHoutan), Brody Lee Ryals and Hali Shianne Kline. Great Grandchildren; Tristan James Mattly, Landen Cole Cullor, Hannah Dawn McCormick, Levi Jared McCormick, Jasper Gregory VanHoutan, Emerson Leeanne Ryals, Brylee Sue Grace Kline and Scarlett Carson Kline. As well as two "adopted" grandchildren; Sabrina Ridgeway and Harley Wheeler.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 1, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Thomas Funeral Home in Unionville, MO. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family and entrusted to Thomas Funeral Home, 709 S 27th St. Unionville, MO 63565.
